Don 2 ahead of Bodyguard but still dawdling behind Ra.One!

Going by the title, the viewers must be wondering how come Don 2 breaks the records of Salman Khan starrer blockbusterBodyguard, with only first day of its release.

No need to worry, as the result is based in comparisons of the volume of theatrical release in India and worldwide. Shahrukh Khan'slatest movie Don 2: The King is Back was undoubtedly among the most-awaited movies of 2011. And as per the latest reviews coming our way the film can be expected to mint some fair amount of money at the box-office.

Anyway getting back to the comparison, it is said that the action thriller film has beaten the record of Salman Khan's Bodyguard in the volume of theatrical release in India and worldwide. But it is still dawdling behind SRK’s previous release Ra.One. Bodyguard set a new record by releasing in 2,700 screens in India and around 500 prints overseas.

Ra.One surpassed this record with its release in 3,100 screens in domestic market and around 1,500 screens in foreign countries.

The movie has released with 3,000 movie prints in the domestic market and it will also have 3D release in 550 screens. Earlier, director Farhan Akhtar had confirmed that Don 2 will hit the screens in 41 countries, but he did not reveal the number of theatres.

Now let’s wait and see if Don beats Bodyguard at box office business too!

How to free yourself from bad habits

If you’ve been promising yourself that you’re going to ditch that bad habit for a while but have never quite got around to doing so, it could be time to take the plunge. To help ensure your success and make the process a little less painless, check out these 10 ways to break bad habits.
Change one thing at a time
You may have a few vices you would like to be rid of, but it is important that you don’t try to break all your bad habits at once. You’re not superhuman and trying to kick a smoking habit, give up chocolate and stop biting your nails all at the same time is probably going to be hard to achieve. Instead, prioritise and pick the habit you most urgently need to change first. Also, try to set a definite goal to work towards rather than a vague “I’m going to stop being so unhealthy”.  Identify what exactly it is you need to do (or stop doing) and make that your focus.
Go public
When trying to kick a bad habit, it is important to tell at least one person about it so that you have somebody to be accountable to. When you are craving a cigarette on your lunch hour it is far easier to give in to your craving if you have nobody to answer to than if you know your colleague is going to quiz you later. You could even consider starting up a blog so that others can follow your progress – having to write about your lapses for others’ viewing may help you think twice about giving in.
Recruit a friend

Even better than just telling someone about your goal, if you know someone who’s been talking about giving up the same bad habit for a while, or who has been inspired by your decision, why not talk them into getting onboard too? Having someone else who knows what you’re going through is great motivation as you will always have someone to call for a moan or some support when the going gets tough.
Take it one day at a time
Setting out to break a bad habit with the thought of “I can never do so-and-so ever again” can be extremely daunting; instead, tell yourself, “I won’t eat junk food/ smoke a cigarette/ have a gossip for the rest of today”. Concentrating on kicking your habit one day at a time makes it seem a lot more achievable, and each day that you beat that habit will inspire you to try again tomorrow. For added motivation, try charting your success on a calendar, marking each day that you have resisted your habit.

Prepare for weak moments

Although it is great to go into this positively, being too confident – and failing to prepare for those moments of weakness – could be your biggest mistake. Don’t rely on being too disciplined to fail; instead accept that we all lack willpower at times and try removing temptation to prepare for those weak moments. Clear the cupboards of chocolate, stay out of stressful situations, or get some distance from friends people who encourage you to drink, for example – make it as difficult for yourself to indulge your habit as you can.
Replace your bad habit with a good one
Cutting something out of your life entirely can be difficult, inconvenient and even plain depressing. To compensate for the sudden gap in your life, try finding substitutes for your bad habit that help to ease the pain. For example, swap junk food (like crisps) for healthy snacks (such as popcorn), or try replacing swear words with other, more innocent phrases (think Ross and Rachel’s “boohockey” and “brother pucker” in the sitcom Friends). You could also try taking up a hobby to compensate for the time you previously spent indulging a TV or shopping habit or hanging out in bars.

Aakash tablet goes on sale for Rs 2500 online

DataWind, the Canadian company that is manufacturing Aakash, has started the online booking and pre booking of the much anticipated low cost Android tablet. Online booking is for students' version of the tablet and pre booking is for UbiSlate 7, the upgraded version of Aakash.

Students' version of Aakash will be available for Rs 2,500 and will be delivered in seven days. The commercial version, UbiSlate 7 is priced at Rs 2,999. The payment mode for both the tablets is cash on delivery.

The commercial version of Aakash tablet will be powered by Android 2.3 and will have a resistive touchscreen, Cortex A8-700 MHz processor and graphics accelerator HD video processor, 256 MB of RAM and 2 GB of internal memory.

Other specifications are a one standard USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack, a 7 inch display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, resistive touchscreen, GPRS and WiFi support.

"The improved version of Aakash tablet will be available in retail outlets by January end," aspokesperson of DataWind told The Mobile Indian.

The tablet was to be made available in retail stores by the end of November. "The delay in the availability of the tablet has been due to upgradation in the tablet and some unforeseen delay in manufacturing," the spokesperson said.

To book and prebook student and commercial versions respectively of Aakash tablet, users have to visit DataWind's website and fill up the required form. In case of booking they will get a booking ID and a message which will state, "You will shortly receive an email confirmation from our support team with further details."

In case of pre booking users will get a confirmation message which will state, "The commercial version of the Akash UbiSlate 7 would be launched in early weeks of December. After the commercial launch we would get in touch with you to deliver your device as soon possible."

As a matter of fact, the confirmation message a reader will see is factually incorrect as The mobile Indian had reported earlier the Aakash tablet will be available only by January end.

Datawind has however not cleared how it is going to establish the identity of students who will book the cheapest version of Aakash tablet. When The Mobile Indian contacted spokesperson of Datwind he said, "Anyone can book the student version of Aakash tablet."

This defeats the purpose of providing students an affordable tablet as now anyone can place an order to get the tablet. Interestingly, now it has been revealed that the government has procured only 10,000 Aakash tablets for distribution in schools and colleges of the initial 1 lakh proposed.

It looks like the company was in a hurry to start the online booking process and has not done not proper homework before staring it.

5 ways to find the perfect man

Ditch the perfume

Although smelling like flowers, honey and all things fruity is great, have you ever thought what it’s doing for your love life? One US study rounded up a group of brave guys and asked them to sniff some ladies T-shirts. The study found that men’s testosterone levels shot up when they smelt the T-shirt of ovulating women. So, if you douse yourself in heavy scent throughout the month, maybe ditch it for a few days when you’re halfway through your cycle. Your natural smell will work in its place. If you really hate the thought of going out without a dab or two, you could always use the body wash version of your perfume. That way the smell is still mild enough not to put off horny guys, but you’ve got the smell you love.

Look at your dad

We don’t blame you if you feel a little freaked out when we say look at your dad. We know that your dad is never going to feature highly on your ‘To-Date List’ (at least we hope not girls!). However, it turns out that Freud may have got it right all those years ago when he suggested we’re all looking for someone like our parents. Apparently, when we meet people, we are naturally drawn to those that look and smell like our parents. Psychotherapist Elayne Savage says familiarity is one of the main reasons why people choose a parent-like partner.  So, if you’re scouting for the perfect man, we suggest you take a trip home first to take a look at what you need to be searching for.

Hold on to him

Some people have no trouble finding a man, but when it comes to the more serious post-infatuation stage something goes wrong. If that sounds familiar, it may be due to your chemical biology. When we fall in love there are three main chemical phases. First comes lust (which is driven by testosterone and estrogen), then comes attraction (a stage instigated by neuro-transmitters called monomamines), then comes the attachment phase. The key hormone in the attachment phase is oxytocin.  Oxytocin promotes bonding in adults and it is released when adults are being intimate. It is thought that the more sex a couple has the deeper the bond. So, maybe a night or two more under the covers will help you stay strong with the next guy.

Go shopping

When you’re single people always tell you to “get out there”. You’re told to get involved in things you never normally would, like walking clubs, craft sessions or language classes. Although it is good to meet new people, do you really want to find the man of your dreams whilst you’re wearing hiking socks? We thought not. The message behind this advice is good though; you need to meet guys in order to find one. However, we suggest you keep to your normal routine and just be more aware of who is around you. Food shopping is the perfect place to meet lots of different men, and you can tell an awful lot about their life by looking inside their trolleys – if they’ve got two types of hair conditioner then walk on by.

Look in the mirror

It may sound odd, but looking in the mirror is the perfect way to find your ideal man. Studies have found that married couples tend to look quite similar. So, have a good hard look at your own facial features so that when you’re next out you can target those men that look like you. Those couples who do look like one another have also been found to have lower cases of child abuse in their families and are less selfish.  However, studies have also found that couples not only have similar facial features, other parts of their bodies correlate too. Researchers found that many married couples had similar: metabolic rates, ear lobe lengths, ear size, neck circumferences and middle finger lengths. Get out those tape measures girls, it’s time to pull.

Swati Pandya Sood
Top tip It's important to bee practical and not go overboard on your wedding.
Choose your venue wisely You might have lavish plans to have a farmhouse or palace wedding, but it's always better to opt for a centrally located venue. Traffic can sometimes create havoc for your guests and spoil the fun.
Be the centre of attraction Don't have celebrity performances on the day of your wedding, because it will completely steal your thunder. Keep all such activities for your pre-marriage functions.

Top tip It's smart to have a backup plan when organising.
When planning the wedding Always make a detailed checklist of the things you require. Put down even the smallest detail and refer to it on a daily basis, so that you don't forget anything. Also, regular follow-ups with vendors are a must.
While choosing a venue Never choose a venue without having a confirmed guestlist in hand; you could end up having more people in a small space.

Meher Sarid

Top tip For a smooth wedding, start planning at least six months in advance.
Don't forget the tables and chairs Always pick your venue keeping the number of guests in mind.
And don't forget the furniture. A splace may seem okay at first, but if you're planning a sit-down dinner or any special elements, the space promised to you will appear far too small once the tables and chairs come into the picture.
Be smart when cracking a deal Always read the fine print when deciding on the venue. Sometimes, venues only provide the space and no entertainment cover, which could lead to additional last minute costs. It's wise to ask a lot of questions before booking.

Achint Nag
Top tip Don't be selfish and keep everyone's interests in mind.
Music and MCD don't go hand-in-hand There is a very strict limit on playing loud music outdoors in Delhi after 10pm. Don't assume you'll be able to work it your way and always book an indoor space so the music can go on for longer.
Choose your food wisely Choose a common palate when it comes to cuisine. Remember that there will people from all age groups in your wedding, so pick something everybody would like to eat. There is no point in having very creative, exotic delicacies when a lot of people won't enjoy it.
Never compromise on space It is suggested to not have a partindoor and part-outdoor space. This will scatter your guests and it takes away from the entire fun of the celebration.

Jenifer Mirchandani
Top tip A lot of planning, detailing and effort goes into making a successful wedding, but it's most important to ensure you have fun on your special day.
Make a budget, then stick to it Calculate a rough indicative budget for the wedding and don't budge from it. Not doing so could increase your costs by upto 50 percent!
Remember, that there will always be last-minute stress No matter how meticulously you plan your wedding, there will always be last minute pressure. Be relaxed and calm about it, and don't let it take away from the fact that this is ultimately about your marriage, not just one wedding night.

Rakhi Kankaria
Top tip Meet all your co-ordinators and vendors beforehand to avoid last minute issues.
Be prepared for extra guests A wedding is a gala affair in our country. So invariably you will end up having more people than you have on your guestlist. Always make arrangements for about 30 percent more people than you have invited to avoid hassles.
Plan, plan, plan Plan and visualise every inch of your wedding. Don't have a vague plan like 'I want a grand wedding'; get into specifics and be sure of exactly what you want.

Jai Raj Gupta

Top tip Once you have a plan in place, work backwards.
Check twice before finalising a package deal Instead of taking combined packages, focus on the core competencies of the service provider and work only with his strengths. The best florist in the country might not give you the best food too.
Always check the entire menu When deciding on the menu, check each and everything. You might have a great main course, but really sub-standard starters and desserts.
Take the DCE approach Your decor, catering and entertainment account for about 70 percent of your total budget. So lock money for this first, then work around with the balance.

Gurleen M Puri

Top tip The perfect wedding needs presence of mind and nerves of steel.
Be well-informed Get as much information as you can beforehand by meeting professionals, reading from magazines and books, as well as scouting the Internetpre-plan everything so that you can get the best products and services at the best price available.
Do not be too adventurous Don't go overboard in trying to be different and out of the ordinary. Don't think too out-of-the-boxit's nice to do things differently, but that also entails a lot more effort and explaining to vendors since this may be the first time they've heard of your concept.

Neeta Raheja
Top tip This is going to be the biggest day of your life, so remember to enjoy it.
Plan wisely Make a countdown calendar that lists items that should be taken care of month-wise. Start filling it up as you move along. This will help you prioritise your responsibilities, as well as those of your family and friends.
Divide responsibility Even if you are a perfectionist who likes to do everything yourself, you don't want to be the bride who is SMSing the pandit to check if he's on his way even as you are sitting at the mandap! If you have a wedding planner to handle your wedding, it's wonderful; if not, make sure family and friends are given specific tasks so that everyone can work towards a common goal.

Geeta Samuel
Top tip Planning really is the secret to perfection.
Be realistic about your goals Planning a wedding is a huge project. It's about concept menus, about decor that far exceeds the precincts of normal imagination, and trousseaus that take months of painstaking exploring and acquiring. So ensure that you start planning well in advance.
Book people in advance Book the concerned peoplemakeup pros, performersin advance for everything, so that you don't have to compromise on your dreams. Execute everything as it comes to your mind.

Beautiful Long Hair CARE !!!!!

Long hair makes a woman feel feminine, beautiful, attractive and glamorous. Practically all women, at some time in their lives, want to grow their hair really long. And almost all men want their woman to have long hair. If you have long hair then it is true you have to take care for your hair and have to devote exclusive time for hair care. Having a healthy, shiny and beautiful hair takes a commitment to continuing care. Besides professional cutting or trimming every two months to promote natural bounce and remove split ends, giving long hair special attention at home each day will help make it the best it can possibly be. Even if you have neglected your hair in the past, it's never too late to get to the root of the problems associated with it, or to practice some preventive maintenance. Therefore learning a few tips for caring for your long hair is handy and helpful. Therefore we have brought for you tips to help you manage those long locks.

To achieve beautiful, shiny and long hair we recommend that you let these tips go straight to your head:

Washing
When washing your hair, you should treat it with the utmost care. Over enthusiastic rubbing, scrubbing and pulling can lead to quite a lot of damage and hair loss and therefore should be avoided. Hair should be rinsed very, very thoroughly and with care. Never bunch your hair up when you wash it. Keep it straight down as you wash from the scalp to the tips, running your fingers lightly through your hair to keep it from tangling and to fully wash it. Use a mild shampoo and try to have the last rinse with cold water. This shrinks the molecules of the hair and gets rid of superfluous coatings, making hair much more manageable. Use a good conditioner to condition your hair. When you've finished the washing and conditioning process, mop up excess water with a towel wrapped around your head for a few minutes.

Shampooing
Choose shampoos containing only natural ingredients with conditioning properties. First, remove surface dirt through gentle rinse. Rinse and lather again, massaging your head to increase the blood supply to the scalp and roots. Don't vigorously rub braids or weaves but do rinse in cascades of water to clean the hair thoroughly. Wash your hair more frequently if you have itching, flaking or dandruff. These conditions are not due to dryness. Thoroughly rinse out conditioner, or the residue will dirty your hair faster.

Combing
Never brush hair when it's wet. De-tangle as much of your hair as you can with your fingers. Finally, use a wide-spaced comb to smooth and untangle your hair gently. Begin to comb from the bottom, working slowly up the strands. Never start at the top and tug downwards as this can do a lot of damage to your hair.

Brushing
Bend forward allowing hair to fall. Use a large oval brush to bring hair from the nape of the neck over the head and down to the ends. Then, stand straight again with hair falling normally and brush from the underside of the hairline down the strands to the ends. Now, brush the top layers into place with long, even strokes. After each stroke, smooth hair with hands to reduce static. Increase the number of strokes daily until you find a comfortable routine. Never brush hair when wet.

Drying
Dry hair naturally always since it is good for your hair texture. If blow-drying is necessary, blow in downward strokes only on cool setting.

Oiling
A healthy scalp produces natural oil, which coats the hair strand and protects it from the environment. Therefore brush your hair regularly for 10 to 15 minutes in order to distribute the scalp oil over and down to the end of the hair. If you have dry hair at the ends then use good oil products for your hair and apply the oil directly to the areas where it is needed. Do not apply too much oil to your hair as it will make your scalp and hair sticky which will in turn attract too much dirt and make your hair dirty very soon.

Protection
Protect your hair from over-exposure to sun, salt, chemicals or chlorinated water, wind and pollution. Wear a hat, cap or scarf if you can. Seek out hair products with sunscreens.

Dealing with Hair Loss

Loss of hair at a very tender age has become a common disorder these days. Hair loss can be because of number of problems but the main cause according to scientists is a progressive condition known as androgenetic alopecia or common hereditary hair loss. In androgenetic alopecia, combination of heredity, hormones and age causes progressive shrinking or miniaturization of certain hair follicles which result in no hair growth at all after certain period of time. Usually we lose about 100 hair per day, after a few months, a new hair grows out of the same follicle. But because of this condition hair growth becomes absolutely nil resulting in baldness. Other causes of hair loss are stress, skin disorders or serious disease, childbirth, shock, excessive drug intake, wrong eating habits, subjecting your hair to chemical treatments etc. Wrong eating habits and inadequate nutrition in your diet also causes loss of hair.

Treatment:

Until recently, there have been no effective treatments for hair loss. However, medicines and surgery to slow hair loss and replace lost hair are now available. There are also two main types of surgery for hair loss - transplantation and scalp reduction.
In order to have beautiful and thick hair growth you need to have adequate essential nutrients in the daily diet. Hair is made of protein and therefore adequate protein is necessary for healthy hair. You diet should be rich with proteins and minerals. You require a daily intake of 100 grams of protein which you can take either through protein supplements or by milk, buttermilk, yogurt, soyabean, eggs, cheese, meat and fish. A lack of vitamin A, vitamin B, B6, B12, folic acid, biotin, iron, copper and iodine may cause hair loss and premature greying. Lack of inositol is also a cause for loss of hair. Inositol is available in foods such as yeast, liver and molasses. Thus if your diet is rich in iodine, protein, vitamin, iron and inositol, then you can have long lustrous locks. Eat lots of green vegetable and fruits supplemented with foods such as milk, vegetable oils, honey, wheat germ, yeast, eggs and liver.

Remedies:

These are a few helpful tips to help regenerate hair follicles, but they do not cure any underlying conditions, or stress-related hair loss.

Take dietary supplements such as Vitamin B6, protien & Silica. Supplements are useful when you can't get enough from natural food sources.

Get enough sleep and have a balanced and healthy diet.

Regularly massage your scalp after a hair wash. It will activate the sebaceous glands and there will be effective circulation of blood in the affected area, making the hair grow healthy.

Apply coconut milk all over the scalp and massaging it into the hair. It will nourish the hair and promote hair growth. The coconut milk can be prepared by grinding the coconut malai and squeezing the residue.

Application of the juice of green coriander leaves on the head is also considered beneficial for hair growth.

Massage your scalp with Amla oil, prepared by boiling dry pieces of amla in coconut oil.

Rinse your hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea this helps hair grow.

Try drinking this - blend bananas with honey, yoghurt & low-fat milk.

As far as possible lead a stress free life.

Girls are far better than boys when it comes to negotiation skills!

There are ample of examples where girls are seen dominating the conversation and boystend to mumble something perplexing to avoid the debate altogether. But girls have a clear cut idea to take the discussion in right direction.

This explains that girls come prepared for conversation and they are well aware of what they want, when they want and why do they want. Girls have all sorts of explanations that why they want to go to the mall to buy any dress, and they have reasons why it's that dress and not another, and why it needs to happen when they say.

This clarity of mind allows the conversations to initiate but irresponsive attitude on boy’s part fails to give any concrete result. So there is set procedure to follow and finding the way, and the first stage demands all the boys to learn.

Learn to listen and speak up your mind clearly to gain some fruitful result out of the efforts so made. Look for all the reasons as to why it happened and then seek solution, which is the second step of negotiation practice.

In negotiation the solution is derived with mutual consensus and for that it is actually important to discuss. While discussing always keep in mind that she's your girlfriend, not your opponent.

Well, keep trying till you succeed!

Know the ways to prevent and control migraine!

A common man associates migraine with a severe head ache which is very difficult to handle. But actually it is caused by nerves swelling that result in expansion of blood vessels in the brain.

This ultimately enlarges arteries, which in turn shoot up to devastating pain. As Dr Praveen Gupta and Dr Sindhu Nair, though its causes are difficult to identify but its symptoms can be cured easily.

They have defined migraine as, “A Migraine is a common type of headache that may be accompanied with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or sensitivity to light. Many people feel a throbbing pain only on one side of the head. In extreme cases of migraine attacks, some people experience a warning symptom called an aura, before the headache. An aura is a warning, usually in the form of disturbances in vision. Symptoms of a Migraine with an Aura: A temporary blind spot, blurred vision, eye pain, seeing stars or zigzag lines”.

Causes: The people between the age group of 10 to 46 years are the victim of migraine. And mostly it is more common in women than man.

Diagnose: There is no specific test that helps detect a migraine; one may have to go for a brain MRI or a CT scan. All it is a matter of precaution and vigilance and a quick check up to doctor.

So remain healthy whole life with some precautions.

It is interesting to note that the film is running successfully in one of the year's slowest weekends and it reflects the popularity of Twilight series. The domestic collection totaled just 82 million dollars, which puts it barely ahead of Hollywood's worst haul of the year.

During the worst time the revenues were 81.5 million dollars and blockbuster film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 raised its domestic haul to247.3 million dollars. The film features actor Kirsten StewartRobert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

This part shows vampire boy Edward Collin getting married to Bella Swan and these two lead characters of this film are portrayed by Robert Pattinson and Kirsten Stewart respectively. This is the first part of final installment of Twilight series and the second part will get released later.

Well, we too are in high praises for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1!

Robert Pattinson found his girlfriend amazing as a vampire!

Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson has made a surprising confession and he said that his girlfriend looks amazing in her newly found vampire avatar. The actor said that his real life girlfriend and reel time co-starKirsten Stewart of Twilight Saga fame looks like a "sexy goddess" as a vampire onscreen.

It is interesting to note that in the latest part of the film, Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn: part 1, Kirsten who plays the lead character Bella swan has shown to turn as a vampire. The 25-year-old actor who playsEdward Cullen said Kirsten looked amazing when her character in the film Bella Swan turned into a blood-sucking vampire.

Robert said, “She was a sexy goddess. She looked amazing. It was funny because Bella is that girl that is always tripping on things, and then, she turns into this elegant woman, like a vampire queen. Kristen had the best twist in the plot”.

He further said, “I was trying to do a sex scene and there was a huge guy lying on the floor, looking at me and telling me what to do. The hardest thing was that, in normal movies, when you're doing a sex scene, people don't pressure you a lot because the director doesn't want to intervene. But in Breaking Dawn, it was different, there was too much expectation. How to make all the people that were waiting for that moment happy?”

Well, you have done great job guys!
